What is a Half Breed Saddle?

Half Breed-Swinging Fender saddle is a  Western Saddle and Stock saddle alternative.

A half breed saddle is a modern take on the ultimate "hybrid" saddle. A half breed saddle is a cross between the traditional stock and a western saddle. A half breed saddle gives the rider comfort and longevity. Commonly used for trail riding, camp drafting, team penning , sporting and tent pegging these saddles are becoming popular with riders in general.

The inner seat measurements of half-breed saddles are roughly 2.5 inches smaller than an english seat size; however, measurements for half-breed saddles include the pommel. A western is measured from the back of the horn so seem smaller.

Half Breed saddles are known for their comfort for both horse and rider. Trail riders and Camp drafters have known this for many years and now these versatile saddles have become a popular option for the everyday rider. Half breed Fender saddles are close contact, light weight but strong, ideal for competition or work. Check out this handy information on the best half breed saddles here

The best contemporary balanced riding techniques are combined with the practicality of a western-style seat in the half-breed saddle. The half breed saddle is a cutting-edge improvement over conventional saddle designs that offers a very comfortable, stable, and secure riding experience. The rider's shoulders, hips, and ankles are all in a straight line as they are supported by a "balanced" seat. The rider may be more fully balanced, utilise the seat and legs more effectively, and respond to changes in the horse with better accuracy and feel thanks to this more comfortable and balanced seat. They blend a dressage saddle's balance, feel, and accuracy with the security and comfort of a western saddle seat and stock saddle thigh pads. This style of seat is increasingly popular among riders.
